Community Guidelines
Effective: Final legal review in progress. This version describes how YUM works today.
YUM is about food. Share what you ate and what you loved, keep it respectful, and keep other people's private details private. These rules apply to nicknames, shared orders, comments, notes, ratings and anything else you post.
1. What belongs on YUM
- Honest notes and ratings about dishes you actually ordered.
- Recommendations for friends, and orders you're happy to share.
- Nicknames that don't impersonate anyone or contain offensive words.
2. What's not allowed
- Harassment, threats, hate speech, or insults about religion, origin, gender or any group.
- Sexual content, nudity, violence or anything inappropriate for a food app.
- Personal information: phone numbers, addresses or anyone's private details, including riders and restaurant staff.
- Spam, advertising, links, fake reviews, or reviews in exchange for rewards that aren't disclosed.
- Impersonating people, restaurants or YUM.
- Anything illegal in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or that promotes illegal goods.
3. Child safety standards
YUM has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material and any attempt to groom, sexualise or endanger a minor. YUM is for adults aged 18 and over.
- Any such content is removed as soon as we become aware of it, and the account is permanently banned.
- We preserve the relevant information and report it to the competent authorities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and to other appropriate authorities where required.
- Anyone can report a concern from the app (Report on a post) or by contacting our child-safety contact below. These reports are prioritised.
We comply with applicable child-safety laws and cooperate fully with law enforcement.
4. Reporting and moderation
- Every shared post and every comment has a Report option. Notes are checked automatically for phone numbers, links and blocked words before they can be posted.
- In comments, your nickname is shown, never your phone number. You can delete your own comments and block someone so neither of you sees the other's comments. The owner of a clip can remove comments on it or turn comments off.
- Our team reviews reports and can hide, remove or restore content. Every moderation action is recorded.
- You can hide your own post, make it visible only to you, or delete it at any time.
5. What happens if rules are broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may remove the content, limit social features, or suspend or close the account. Serious harm, including any child-safety violation, leads to an immediate permanent ban. If you think we made a mistake, contact support to appeal.
